The schedule in the March and April includes stops in Santiago (Chile) to visit the LAN airlines and display at FIDAE Air show, then Ireland to do maintenance activities for a day, Baku (Azerbaijan) to visit the Azerbaijan Airlines, Moscow (Russia) to visit the airline employees, customers, and visitors, Istanbul (Turkey) to visit the suppliers and customers, and Madrid (Spain) to visit Air Europa, employees of Boeing, and suppliers.

The dream tour airplane comprise of special cabin, which includes a welcome entryway, larger dim windows, big bins, and dynamic LED lights. The airplane has also configured with a larger business class cabin, an economy class section, and overhead crew compartment for rest purpose.

U.S Airlines Challenges German Departure Tax

The industry trade organization for the leading US airlines, Airlines for America (A4A) has filed a complaint against the German Transport Tax, which illegally charges an amount of 45 Euros (approximately $59) per passenger for serving the country

This huge tax exists since January 2011, and charges the US flights with the highest of three tax brackets, which has inflicted by the scheme.

A4A and other members have filed a complaint against the tax and pursued for the legal action, because the tax violates various long-standing international agreements, which also include Chicago Convention, the German Constitution, and US-EU Open Skies Agreement.

A4A facilitates a legal complaint with the German Fiscal Court in Kassel and provides a statement, which says that Germany cannot randomly close their budget gap on the US Airlines and their passengers’ backs, because they have paid the taxes already at an excessive rate. This is just a short-sighted cash grasp, which harms the Germany’s economy, than any short term benefit that the tax revenue may bring the country’s economy.

A detailed complaint will be filed with the German Fiscal Court within the next two months, during the same time it urges for a referral of the case to the German Federal Constitution Court.

American Airlines to roll-out Main Cabin Extra

American Airlines announces the update regarding the entire mainline fleet, with Main Cabin Extra that enables priority boarding and more leg room. The installation plans for the same is expected to commence by this year, and the update reflects on all the existing aircrafts. To start with, Boeing 737-800 aircraft will be equipped with Main Cabin Extra seating, by the beginning of the fall, current year. Later on, aircrafts such as A321s, A319s, Boeing 777-300, and 787s will be equipped with Main Cabin Extra seating.

The American Airlines’ Chief Commercial Officer, Virasb Vahidi says that the customers, who are traveling in the Main Cabin Extra seats, can enjoy four to six inches of log room, which is convenient when compared to the existing one. American Airlines will continue providing choices to the customers, as per their desire and value. 

The new Main Cabin Extra seats will be available in the front of Main Cabin, which will enable easy boarding and deplaning. American Airlines provides a complimentary access to the Main Cabin Extra to the AAdvantage Platinum Members, AAdvantage Executive Platinum members, and customers purchasing a full-fare economy tickets. The complimentary access is provided, based on the availability. 

AAdvantage Gold members also will receive the complimentary access, from December 31st, 2013. Elite customers can have priority booking option on those Main Cabin Extra seats, and elite customers can select the seating option, until the final check-in.

First Qatar Airways Dream liner on the production line
